The Ideal Chimney Sweeping Company was launched in 1946 after the founder George Armine Newell, affectionately known as "G.A." a skilled engineer accepted responsibility for sweeping the chimney at his home, and spent the rest of the day cleaning up the mess.

He set to work and devised the revolutionary idea of using a vacuum to sweep chimneys, and make no mess, at a charge of 3 shillings per chimney. Demand was so high that after the war GA's brother Arthur joined him. The company was requested to provide Office Cleaning and as this expanded his son-in-law Dennis Dring was recruited to run this division.

The chimney sweeping activities discontinued in 1962 and so Ideal Cleaning Services Limited was born. As the word spread of Ideal's impeccably high standards and value for money approach, the company grew, diversifying as different market sectors expressed interest, and their cleaning requirements evolved.

Ideal have continued to grow, adding Government establishments and blue chip clients to the ever growing portfolio of work, throughout time the one thing that hasn’t changed is the approach to our clients. To this day we strive to provide an incredibly high standard of work for the best possible value.
